We are very fortunate in our office to receive vitality seminars from someone from The Vitality Group every quarter. These lunch meetings discuss everything to do with vitality from stress to sleep, nutrition to exercise, etc.. They are fantastic seminars, and they always leave me pumped and ready to make big changes in my life.
In our last meeting Greg Florez, CEO of Fit Advisors, mentioned that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. He didn’t go into a lot of depth on the topic, so naturally I googled it.
I found this blog, and this blog that both have fantastic information and tips on how to make and keep a habit in 21 days.

I am still determined to work on the goals that I have set as New Year’s Resolutions. I’ve done a lot better at keeping these resolutions than I thought I would, but I still have a long way to go. And somehow my list of goals just keeps growing and growing and growing…
I really like this idea of 21 days. 21 days sounds a lot more attainable than a whole year. 21 days isn’t even a whole month! One of the previously mentioned blog posts noted that if you miss a day in your 21 day quest, you should start the 21 days all over. I can easily see myself missing one or two days, so I think that will be a nice way to keep myself responsible.
I think I’m going to keep my running list of goals/habits I want to form and start working on a new habit every 21 days (or however long it takes for me to achieve the previous goal).
After I’ve tackled my goal of being on time, I’m going to try to make a habit out of wearing my retainers at night… *Gulp* Wish me luck.
Are there habits that you want to make or break in 21 days?
Yeah, I'm wishing I could break my bad eating habits that developed around October of last year - I think it's hopeless :( LOL
