Mark this day in your books folks, history has just been made!
Tonight at approximately 7:30pm Mountain Standard Time, I finished running 3 miles!
Good: I ran 3 miles!!
Better: I never stopped!! I actually ran the entire time!!
Best: That was a major MAJOR hurdle for me that I haven’t been able to overcome in over TEN years! (when you figure what percentage of my life ten years is, it’s pretty significant!). We’re talking, this is a girl who couldn’t run consistently for more than .2 of a mile. Major.
I am still in shock. I can’t believe it. I am so excited that I could go run ANOTHER 3 miles!! …after I rest for quite some time… Lol.
I have a lot of people I’d like to thank. First, I’d like to thank the academy. Also, my amazing husband for waking me up and making me a poached egg this morning.
Furthermore, thanks to Rachel who was my coach / pacemaker / cheerleader and the main reason I even started training in the first place. Also, biggest loser for inspiring me to push myself beyond what I thought I could do. And finally, my lucky socks. They weren’t lucky until tonight, but now I’m convinced that they helped. =)
Woohoo!!
haha! loving this post, you did rock it and you should be proud of yourself. when we got home last night, clint even said,'ya, amber did awesome, and so much better than saturday!' we are both totally impressed that no matter what you are willing to give it a go and try your best. from experience with other people...this isn't always the case...so cheers to you!
ReplyDelete=)) Thank you so much Rachel! Lol, I'm definitely having a hard time walking today, but I'm euphoric that I actually finished the whole thing. I couldn't have done it without you. Well, probably eventually, but it would have taken a lot longer... Thank you!
