Salt Lake Events – Ichiban Sushi

It’s friday, which in some cultures means the weekend is here so you can get a little crazy and stay up later than you normally would. =)

After the response I got from my last Salt Lake Events post, I thought it would be nice to highlight more Salt Lake Events every friday. You can see that so far I haven’t been successful in writing these posts on fridays, but I’ve got high hopes for myself moving forward.

Ichiban Picture from here.

This week I’d like to highlight my very favorite sushi place ever. (it may be ridiculously obvious by this point that my love for sushi is huge). Ichiban Sushi is located on 336 South 400 East in Salt Lake.

They have delicious rolls, fun appetizers, and even Plum or Wasabi flavored ice cream for dessert. On a normal night the rolls range from probably $6-$13, but I’m all about a good deal so I don’t recommend paying full price.

On Monday and Tuesday nights Ichiban has Happy Hour (but it’s really all night). Their most popular rolls are offered for half price! It’s usually pretty packed on those nights, so don’t fret if you have to wait a little while. I promise, any wait is worth it.

My good friend and I went a few weeks ago during happy hour. We got there around 5:30 and sat at the bar. Our rolls were out to us within ten minutes it seems. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick it was, but I think it’s also because we were there pretty early.

Adam loves the X96 roll which is a bit on the spicy side, and I LOVE the Las Vegas roll which has my favorite ingredient, cream cheese… Mmmm… =) The Surf and Turf roll isn’t one of the half priced rolls, but it’s also a really cool roll.

Second to the rolls, the atmosphere at Ichiban is really cool. The building is an old church, so there are stained glass windows everywhere. The architecture and decor are also really neat.

Obviously, this is a pretty biased post because Ichiban is my very favorite sushi restaurant, but I’d like to hear about your experiences good or bad.

Happy eating!
