Oui Oui Oui!!

I think my favorite part of blogging or emailing is trying to think of a subject line or title. The subject line in an email is supposed to give the subject right? Well it seems most people forget that. I think most work emails I get have no subject line, or they just retain the subject line that was already included in the message, even though it has nothing to do with what they are asking me.

I, on the other hand, typically don't utilize the subject line as I should. I feel like the subject line of an email gives away the topic. If I am asking a coworker to help me clean out the office fridge, I definitely don't want the subject line to be "Clean out the fridge." Before even opening the email, this person will already be deterred. So instead, I might use a subject line like "The most exciting task you've ever had today!" I'm pretty sure at this point everyone knows I'm a pretty sarcastic person. It just makes life more interesting to me. I try not to let my sarcasm get on the rude side. But that's a different topic entirely. By titling my subject lines with (what I find) humorous headings, gets a much better reaction out of those I work with. Usually resulting in at least a small chuckle. At which point I feel complete. ...Lol, maybe not completely complete, but it's definitely a small accomplishment.

Titles to blogs are a lot alike subject lines. Whenever I think about what to title a posting, I am sent back in time to college english classes. The title of your paper has to be descriptive, but also catchy. Catchy in that you spark the reader's interest after he/she reads the title and/or first line of the paper.

You may have read the title to this post and thought, "does she need to go wee-wee?" or perhaps, "Oy? That's what my grandma/teacher/friend/whomever used to say." Hopefully your interest was sparked and you wanted to keep reading. At which point, you are probably reading this now.

The reason I am rambling about this is because
  1. Adam is gone to russia, which means that even though I felt like I was lacking in social interaction while he was in San Jose, it's worse now. At least I could call or text him before, now email is my best option until we get skype hooked up. So I tend to word vomit a bit because I don't interact with humans as much. Lol... Humans...
  2. As I sat and thought about what the title of this post would be, I began to ponder titles and subject lines, and why we do the things we do (my very favorite topic).
  3. What better way to share my feelings than with a blog? That's what these things are for right?
After I decided on a title, it reminded me of my new favorite thing (which is the real point of this post. Surprise!!). Hoops & Yoyo. The most ridiculous, funny, immature characters I've seen since homestarrunner. www.hoopsandyoyo.com. I don't know where they came from, but they are hallmark's new greeting card characters.

The next time you need to buy a card for someone, do yourself a favor; make your day 100 times better and browse through the hoops and yoyo section of cards. They may be in a different section of the store, but it's so worth it! I love to listen to them over and over, and I still crack up every time. Let me know how it goes!
