Another Biker Killed

A woman who was out riding her bike on her lunch break is dead, and this is all that happened to the truck that hit her.

It is my sincere plea that we will all be very cautious around bikers. People on bikes don’t have airbags like people in cars do. Bikes don’t have braking systems like cars, so it’s tougher to brake and not hit a car that cuts you off, or tries to hurry and turn in front of you. It is harder to swerve on a bike.

Please remember, the next time you pass a bike, try to jump in front of a bike, open your car door when a bike is coming… You could kill that biker. If they somehow survive the incident, they could have lasting injuries that impact the rest of their lives. I love biking. If I got hit by a car and lost a limb, or had severe back problems and couldn’t bike or run again, I don’t know what I would do.

Please, please, let’s all be more cautious around bikers. Your car can take the hit, but that biker’s body can’t.
