So you think you can Tri

Picture ruthlessly stolen from here.

Well I did it. On Saturday morning my amazing husband and I ran our first Triathlon. It was the 4th Street Clinic Tri at the UofU. 300M swim, 8K mountain bike, 5K run.

I finished in 1 hour 24 minutes, and am very pleased to announce that was ranked 3rd fastest in my age group for my swim to bike transition time. All those mornings of having to hurry getting ready for work have really paid off. ;)

When I saw an 85 year old grandma finish an Ironman Triathlon on the Universal Sports channel, I knew I could finish a tri. Not to mention I had an amazing amount of help from a mentor who wouldn’t let me quit. =)

I definitely had my ups and downs during the race, but all in all I’m extremely proud of myself, and I greatly exceeded my own expectations. I recommend a tri to anyone!
