Iiiiiiiittt’s FRIDAY! Woot!
This Friday I’d like to introduce you to The Off Broadway Theatre, and Laughing Stock.
The OBT is located in downtown salt lake on main street right off 300 south (broadway). It’s across the street from the wells fargo building.
Off Broadway theater puts on parody plays. To give examples, here is their lineup for the next year. “The Wicked Wizard of Ahhs,” “Star Ward,” “Robin Hood; Boyz in the Hood,” “Henry Botter,” and “Miracle on Third and Main.”
This theatre is also home to the improv comedy troupe Laughing Stock. If you’ve ever seen “Who’s Line is it Anyway” you’ve seen improv comedy. Laughing stock is always hilarious, Adam and I love to go.
The plays run for about a month. Performances are Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm. Laughing Stock is held every Friday and Saturday night at 10pm (Laughing Stock also plays at 7:30pm when there isn’t a play).
Tickets for Laughing Stock are $9 for students, $11 for adults. I am not sure what the cost of tickets is for one of the plays, but I know it is very similar. Also, you can purchase a package deal (a play + laughing stock for one night) which will save you money off the total cost.
Everything at this theater is PG rated. Go out and enjoy some good clean laughter!
